Funding the way forward
Why do we need funding?
Many people think that, as volunteers give their time freely to their communities, there is no cost attached to volunteering. BUT to make sure everyone has the ability to volunteer we must meet certain costs:
- Volunteer expenses - travel/phones/stationery
- Recognition events as a "thank you"
- Support staff to help encourage difficult to reach volunteers
- Publicity/publications to promote the work and recruit volunteers
- Training events to provide technical support
- Network meetings for volunteer organisers to exchange information.
Each volunteer organiser costs around £1,000 in expenses, which is a small price to pay for the community gain. For example, for each volunteer organiser we recruit who has 20-40 volunteers for schools, 1000 children will benefit from mentoring support each year.
How can I give financial support?
Make a one off donation - You can give by cheque or with a CAF Charity Voucher. Please make your cheque or voucher payable to CSV-RSVP, and send it to our Head Office address. If you are sending a cheque and are a UK taxpayer, you can use Gift Aid to make your donation worth even more : please take a moment to download the Gift Aid Declaration form, then print it and send the completed form with your gift.
Leave a legacy in your will - As little as £150 could fund a volunteer for a whole year, while a legacy of £3,000 will enable volunteers to expand into a new location. For more details please download our leaflet, Information about Legacies and Wills.
Make a regular monthly donation - All gifts are welcome, but regular donations have special value because they allow us to plan our expenditure. Please contact our UK head office to discuss ways of becoming a regular donor - and don't forget that Gift Aid can be used to increase the value of these gifts too.
