The Energy Challenge

Helping to keep homes warm!

The Energy Challenge is an exciting and innovative project designed to help the most vulnerable members of society stay warm at home whilst addressing the fear of high utility bills.

Too many people in the UK still suffer the indignity of cold homes. In order to help those in need, CSV-RSVP has teamed up with National Energy Action (NEA), Scottish Power and Energy Action Scotland. Trained volunteers give fuel cost-cutting and home warmth advice, both at local venues and, if invited, at people's homes. This advice covers all aspects of domestic energy, including heating systems, insulation, billing problems, damp and more.

  • In London, the project is currently running in the boroughs of Camden, City, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Haringey, Barnet, Brent, and Lambeth. We give free advice on how to keep warm and save energy, together with information on grants and services available to people in fuel poverty.
  • In Scotland, the project is operational from Edinburgh to Aberdeen, and will start to move west to Glasgow in 2008. This truly innovative concept reaches those in our communities who need affordable warmth and assists them to stay warm and well.
